More than 30 years ago, I met a remarkable woman named Mary who shared with me her handwritten and illustrated stories about a little mouse living in a small village. I never forgot Mary—or her little mouse.

Mary was nearly 90 when I knew her. She was kind, cheerful, and warm, and I hoped someday to help her share her little mouse stories with others. Sadly, Mary passed away, and her original stories and illustrations were lost. But I never forgot them. That memory stayed with me for more than 30 years and eventually became part of the inspiration for Figaro’s World.

That lasting memory planted a seed. Over the years, it grew into Figaro’s World—my own magical woodland filled with original characters, friendship, adventure, and discovery. Through Figaro and his friends, I hope children will find stories that spark their imaginations, make them smile, and leave them excited for the next adventure.
